Every single day, thousands of individuals and families are faced with making heartbreaking decisions when it comes to whether or not to buy groceries, pay rent, or take care of a health care need. Between rising insurance costs and expensive prescriptions, many are forced to seek financial assistance so they can access needed care.

AccessKC (formerly known as Kansas City’s Medicine Cabinet) has been helping our neighbors get immediate, short-term medical care since 2005. This unprecedented program offers access to quality health services for eligible individuals in short-term crisis.

Through the support of the community, AccessKC provides much needed financial assistance for:

(fillings and extractions)

Diabetic Supplies

Hearing aids and Durable medical equipment

Vision exams and Eyeglasses

Prescriptions
(no controlled substances)

A History of Support

In July of 2005, BTLLF (now AcruxKC) noticed that health care support via emergency medical assistance was greatly lacking in the Kansas City metro area. Those living under 200% of the federal poverty level—who had little to no insurance—suffered the greatest when it came to their healthcare.

With the support of generous contributors, Acrux’s signature program AccessKC helps fill this gap and makes a positive impact on health throughout our community.

Making Access Easy

Today, AccessKC continues to expand and serve even more families and individuals seeking crisis medical attention. Through partnerships with 32 local social services agencies (55 intake sites) and over 120 health services vendors locations on both sides of the state line—the reach increases each and every day.
