AccessKC Health Assistance
Access to Care for Those Who Qualify
AccessKC, the flagship program of Kansas City-based nonprofit AcruxKC, facilitates access to basic health services for low-income residents of the bi-state Kansas City region. AccessKC reduces barriers to care for individuals and families facing financial challenges, including those who are uninsured or underinsured.
What We Help With
AccessKC facilitates access to health services. For eligible individuals, voucher-based AccessKC covers 100% of the cost of certain health services, including:
Dental Services
Durable Medical Goods
Hearing Aids
Prescriptions
Eye Exams & Glasses
Eligibility
AccessKC is available to residents of eight counties:
Missouri: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray
Kansas: Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte
Income Guidelines:
Up to 200% of the federal poverty level, including:
$2,608/month – Single person
$3,525/month – Two people
$5,458/month – Family of four
Required Documentation:
Proof of income for the past 30 days for all household members 18+
Photo ID and SSN/ITIN/Birth Certificate for household members 18+
Proof of address (past 30 days)
A current prescription or medical order
Additional Initiatives
AccessKC also operates targeted programs to meet specific community needs:
ThriveKC
ThriveKC facilitates access to care for working households who earn too much money to qualify for public assistance and social service programs. Working households with gross income between 200-300% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible for all AccessKC services, including emergency dental care, prescriptions, eye exams and glasses, and more.
See to Succeed
See to Succeed provides on-site eye exams and one complete pair of glasses to qualifying students in local schools. This initiative ensures that vision challenges don’t interfere with a child’s ability to learn, participate, and thrive in the classroom and beyond.
