Celebrating 20 Years of AcruxKC: Serving the Kansas City Region

In 2002, a transformative event took place in the Kansas City region. Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Baptist Medical Center joined forces, creating Baptist-Lutheran Medical Center. This merger marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that would ultimately bring health, hope, and healing to countless lives in the community.

But the story doesn't stop there. A year later, in 2003, Health Midwest was acquired by HCA, a for-profit healthcare system. Despite the shifts in the healthcare landscape, the spirit of dedication and service endured. Baptist-Lutheran Medical Center Foundation, a merger of the hospitals' foundations, charted its own course and re-emerged as Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation (BTLLF).

The name "Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation" paid homage to the rich legacies of both hospitals and demonstrated a continued commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of the region.

Fast forward to today, and this remarkable foundation has a new name: AcruxKC. For two decades, AcruxKC has been unwavering in its mission, dedicated to the well-being of the Kansas City community. It's not merely a charity; it's a lifeline, providing access to essential healthcare services and valuable health education programs to those who need it most.

AcruxKC's two-decade journey is a testament to the enduring spirit of service and the potential of healthcare organizations to make a profound impact on the lives they touch. In a region known for its heart and resilience, AcruxKC embodies those qualities and so much more.

As we celebrate 20 years of AcruxKC, we're reflecting on transformed lives, improved health, and restored hope. Here's to two decades of unwavering commitment, and to many more years of making Kansas City healthier and stronger together.

Join us in celebrating this milestone and the promise of a brighter, healthier future for the Kansas City region. 🎉🏥
