Why Rebrand?
AcruxKC chose to rebrand and rename itself because the Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation brand no longer communicated the right message to our audience. With this new brand and the legacy of BTLLF in mind, AcruxKC continues to help a nondenominational audience. While still providing health care services and education assistance to current customers, AcruxKC seeks to welcome a new audience that now feels accepted by our new brand.
What Does Acrux Mean?
It was important that the legacy of BTLLF was not forgotten within the new name. To honor the two hospitals, Trinity Lutheran Hospital and Baptist Medical Center, the name AcruxKC was chosen.
The word “Acrux” comes from the Crux constellation. The Crux constellation is symbolic because the four stars in this constellation form the shape of a cross, a similar shape to that within religious scripture. Acrux is made up of nearly two identical B-class stars that, to the naked eye, look like one star. This classifies Acrux as the brightest star within this constellation. The two stars joined together as one closely relates to the history of the two hospitals coming together and creating the Baptist-Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation.
From biblical reference to the present day, the symbolism of a star continues to represent hope and a light that guides the way. AcruxKC has the resources to help people within the Kansas City area that may feel like they have nowhere to turn to or no hope. This new name and voice communicates to those people that AcruxKC is here to guide them; whether it be through health care services or education assistance.
