Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Scholarship

In 1906, Swedish Hospital established a school of nursing to meet the demand for skilled professionals. The hospital was renamed Trinity Lutheran Hospital of Kansas City in 1921. For over 65 years, Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing provided premier nursing education and training. As higher education models grew in popularity, diploma nursing programs were phased out. Trinity graduated its final class in 1972.

More than 50 years later, Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae remain dedicated to their school and the nursing profession.

For 2025/2026, the Alumnae Scholarship Committee awarded $157,000 to 84 students enrolled in 23 nursing programs. Since 2003, nearly 1,000 nursing scholarships totaling $2.9 million have been awarded to aspiring nurses.
