2025 Annual Luncheon
Celebrating Legacy and Future:
Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Reunion & Scholarship Luncheon
On June 14th, we were honored to host the 2025 Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Reunion & Scholarship Luncheon at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center. This annual gathering brought together our cherished alumnae community to celebrate the enduring spirit of Trinity Lutheran and recognize the future of nursing through our scholarship awards.
Numerous attendees—including nursing alumnae, current scholarship recipients and their families, friends, AcruxKC board members, and staff—joined us for a heartfelt afternoon of celebration and connection.
The program began with a warm welcome from Beth Radtke, Executive Director of AcruxKC, who reflected on the history of AcruxKC and its dedication to supporting nursing scholarships. Guests then enjoyed a delicious luncheon buffet before gathering for the formal program.
Becky Lytle, President of the Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Association, shared the history of the Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing and the continued legacy of its scholarship initiatives.
Following her remarks, Francisco Lopez, Chair of the Health Education Committee for the AcruxKC Board of Directors, presented the L.A. Hollinger, MD Awards, honoring four students whose applications best reflected Dr. Hollinger’s core values:
Compassionate and professional patient care
Excellence in education and teaching
Service to one’s community and nation
Medical missions to the indigent
We then recognized the 2025–2026 scholarship recipients, with each student present receiving a certificate and a token gift symbolizing the community of support behind their academic journey.
The event also included a touching In Memoriam tribute presented by the Nurse Honor Guard of Kansas City, honoring the lives and legacies of alumnae who are no longer with us.
The program concluded with final remarks and thanks from the AcruxKC team.
This Year’s Awards
AcruxKC awarded a total of $161,000 in nursing scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year. Applicants from across the country competed for two prestigious awards:
The Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae Fund awarded $157,000 to exceptional nursing students pursuing their academic and professional goals.
The L.A. Hollinger, MD Fund awarded $4,000 in scholarships to students who embodied the values exemplified by Dr. Hollinger.

These scholarships continue to play a vital role in supporting the education and aspirations of the next generation of nurses—empowering them to make meaningful contributions to healthcare in Kansas City and beyond. You can view the full list of scholarship recipients here.
